As an assessor or verifier, what does Ecordia mean to me ?

Ecordia is a key tool for NVQ assessing and verifying. This system streamlines the NVQ process and minimises inefficiencies. It will enable you to manage your workload more effectively and increase productivity. The processes involved in your work will become more enjoyable as the system is easy and intuitive to use. Visually-based on the paper portfolio and designed by training professionals, not computer programmers, you will be instantly familiar with the system and will find minimal training is required.

How are assessment decisions recorded ?

• Assessment-records and feedbacks are recorded onto the system for candidates, IVs and EV to read; enabling you to efficiently maintain your quality assurance arrangements.

• The candidate can seek clarification when necessary throughout the assessment process.

• Second-line assessment can be conducted and recorded, enabling those working towards their assessor award to use the system.

• The Independent Assessment of Evidence, and even units, can be achieved and recorded onto the system.

• All assessment decisions are clearly presented with the evidence and date stamped for ease of reference.

How is evidence logged and tracked ?

• Once a plan has been agreed, evidence can be entered onto the system. Plans are linked to the 'NOS' the candidate is working towards and when assessed these links are modified accordingly to reflect the competences which have been achieved.

• All plans, reviews and evidence are date stamped when entered onto the system, providing a clear audit trail of the assessment process.

• Evidence log sheets are available for all elements showing the assessment method and the links to unit, element, PCs, range/scope and knowledge.

How does the IV access and sample evidence ?

• Verifier activities are recorded on the system for the assessor to read. The assessor also has the ability to seek clarification if necessary.

• All workflow between the IV and Assessor is recorded and date stamped. Summative and Formative IV activities can be conducted.

What provision is there for the EV to sample and record activity?

• The EV can access the system as usual via the Internet and view all aspects of the assessment process.

• The EV activities are recorded in the same way as the IV: the EV can access any candidate's portfolio that is registered to the Awarding Body.

How are IV decisions recorded ?

• The activities of the IV are recorded onto the system in the same way as assessment decisions, although the candidate cannot access the feedback.
